Driver Profile Michael C. Morris ACFC Racing

Driver Name: Michael C. Morris

Michael C. Morris has been involved in racing since the age of twelve (12) when he took a summer job working at Terry’s Speed Shop located in Phoenixville PA. From there he started his career in drag racing until the age of 16 when he found out that you could race the roads of Pennsylvania. After several near misses, he decided to let his racing career lapse.

With the help of his brother John Morris, they teamed up and joined Razzberry Racing. The team raced throughout the 80’s with drivers Dave Rose and others including John and Michael Morris. The team competed in the Playboy Escort Challenge, Firestone Firehawk Series and the Motorola Cup Series and other events with some great finishes to their credit.

In the 90’s, the team was building their own cars to complete in the Sports Car Club of America’s National Classes when in 1993 Michael joined Ed Arnold Racing with David Donahue, son of the legendary Mark Donahue, to run in the 1993 IMSA Supercar Challenge. The team won both the 1994 and 1995 IMSA Supercar Championship’s back to back with Michael driving some of the endurance runs and the 3rd car in the team as well as a test driver.

In 1995 Michael moved to open wheel racing in the SCCA’s Formula Atlantic class and in the opening year placed 5 wins on the board with a NYSRRC Championship and placed 2nd in the MARRS Road Racing Series. His most recent win was in 2001 at Sebring in the exciting open wheel Formula Atlantic Class.

He now uses his talents to “Race for Shared Parenting” for ACFC Racing (American Coalition of Fathers and Children) in an Outreach and Education program to inform the public and legislators of the benefits of shared parenting.
